Andaman Aerodrome’s helipads at Surin and Pa Khlok have completed certification and are in their final stages before entering service. Certification under CAAT, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, is the slowest and most demanding part of building a helipad, and the reason a certified network is so difficult to replicate.
With the pads certified, the remaining steps are operational: final approvals with aircraft and crew, and coordination with the authorities before the first flights. Two certified pads mark the foundation of the Andaman network across Phuket, with further sites in development and in discussion with hotel and resort partners.
